BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing and torrent platform. In 2018, a blockchain platform, TRON (TRX) purchased BitTorrent and improvement were made to the platform. The dedicated native cryptocurrency token in BitTorrent is BTT. You can bid BTT to increase your torrent download speed (up to 90% faster) and earn BTT when you seed your files. The BTT you earn will then be stored in the dedicated wallet and this article will guide you in transferring BTT from the dedicated wallet to an external wallet.

The dedicated BitTorrent wallet looks like this.

Step by step guide

  1. Click on the wallet tab on the left and you will see the amount of BTT in your wallet. The BTT in-app shows the BTT tokens used in BitTorrent speed; the BTT on-chain shows the BTT tokens on the public TRON blockchain. The exchange will enable the transfer of tokens between a high-performance private ledger and the public TRON blockchain.

2. You will need to first move some BTT (at least 1000) from BTT in-app to BTT on-chain. This will allow your BTT to be listed on the TRON public blockchain.

TRON (TRX)

3. I will be using Trust Wallet as my external wallet to store my BTT. Since BTT is developed on the TRON blockchain, you should send your BTT only to the TRON wallet. If this is your first time using a TRON wallet, you will need at least 0.1 TRX to activate your TRON wallet. In this case, you will have to transfer at least 0.1 TRX to your BitTorrent dedicated wallet. You can buy your TRON cryptocurrency from the Binance exchange and send it to your address. Your wallet address can be found on the top right-hand side of the page (see below).

4. Now look for an external TRON wallet, for example, using the TRON wallet in Trust Wallet below as I show below. (Remember to only use TRON wallet or else you may lose your cryptocurrency)

Trust Wallet and select the TRON cryptocurrency

5. Send your BTT to the address on the external TRON wallet by inputting the amount you want in the BTT on-chain section and after you send it, your external wallet will create a separate BTT cryptocurrency with the same address as your TRON wallet.

That’s it, that is how you send your BTT to an external wallet.
